Trash Art Contest
It's time for the 14th Annual Earth Day Trash Art contest. Showcase your classes' artwork at the Earth Day Every Day Celebration on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Neshaminy Mall. Winners will be announced publicly and artwork will be displayed through Monday, March 15.
This contest, sponsored by the Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer Newspaper in Education (NIE) programs, Waste Management, Wheelabrator Falls and the Neshaminy Mall, is open to classes of all Bucks County and Eastern Montgomery County schools.
We invite you and your students to help take the Earth Day Every Day message to the
community by entering the Trash Art Contest.
More than $1,600 in prizes will be awarded:
- Three categories: Elementary, Middle and High School.
- In each category, one first place prize of $250, one second place prize of $200 and one honorable mention prize of $100 will be awarded to winning classes.
Trash Art Contest Guidelines:
- Entries must focus on the theme:
Earth Day Every Day and be comprised of 90 percent trash and recyclable materials.
- All entries will be displayed and judged at the Earth Day Every Day Celebration on Saturday, March 13 at Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem.
- Entries will remain on display throughout the weekend.
- Schools must provide transportation for their artwork. Set-up is Saturday, March 13 at 8:30 a.m; judging is at 11:30 a.m. Entries must be picked up Monday, March 15 by 6 p.m. (Those left will be recycled.)
- Neshaminy Mall will provide display tables.
- Trash Art Contest registration deadline is Friday, March 5, 2010.
